People Proud is our commitment to put people first.
We value every person, regardless of their job. Through their hands, we shape the property experience for customers. Through their hearts, we define hospitality. Through their efforts we lead. We are proud of our people, and we want to be sure it shows.
Our commitment to our people:
To treat every job as meaningful and every person as significant
To champion a workplace environment of diversity, dignity, and decency
To invest in the training and support they need to be successful
To provide well-earned recognition and appreciation
To offer benefits that reflect the pride that we have in our people
Advantage for our resort partners:
Through People Proud, resorts that partner with MasterCorp enjoy a staff who feel esteemed and appreciated. Because we put our people first, they know they are valued, which frees them to focus on caring for others, on putting customers first, on delivering a memorable hospitality experience.
MasterCorp is proud of the diversity among our staff and believe that all people should be treated with equality and respect. We value people of all ethnic origins and cultural heritages, and we are enriched by the depth of perspectives and range of personalities they bring to our team. We believe that everyone should be able to work in a safe, nurturing environment, free of fear, shame, and rejection. We place honor in a job well done, regardless of the task or title. We are proud of ALL of our people.
We are proud of the way our people encourage their friends to work with MasterCorp. Good people enjoy working with good people. In some locations, the majority of our employees come from referrals. We see our people as partners in our growth and share with them the benefit of each person they refer.
While excellence is required in all we do, we are truly proud of the people who go above and beyond for a guest, and we want to be sure each hospitality hero knows she or he is appreciated by the resort team and celebrated in our People Proud blog.
Hospitality Services Professionals Week
Just as we recognize individual excellence, we want to show appreciation for all of our hospitality professionals. During International Housekeeping Week, not only do we celebrate the great work of housekeepers, we include all Hospitality Services Professionals – housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, grounds, and commercial services – all who work so hard on the front lines to assure a wonderful hospitality experience.
We are proud of the recognition our people have received in the industry. Our people have won 47 gold and silver ARDY awards for excellence in hospitality services. Finalists are treated to an awards gala where they are seated among the company leaders and personally congratulated by the leaders in the industry. Each winner not only receives individual honor but represents the excellence and hard work of all our people.
Providing world-class training says we value our people and are proud to invest in their success. Housekeepers receive training pay even before they clean their first room. From new hire training and process certification to our inspect-and-train system, everyone is equipped for excellence in their jobs.
We are proud of all the people who have advanced through their careers with MasterCorp. Many of our managers started as staff workers and advanced their way along a career path. We want to be a company with an open path for those who have a desire to grow in their careers.
We are proud of the way our people care for guests – and for each other. Caring gives purpose to each task; we are not just cleaning and fixing up the property, we are preparing a hospitality experience. Putting people first creates a culture of caring that changes how we respond to others and to our work.
Committed to Improvement
People Proud is our commitment. Being proud of our people is the easy part. How we show our appreciation and make each person feel valued is an initiative in progress. We have listened and we feel we have a good start, but we are interested in your feedback. Tell us what we are doing right. Tell us what we might do better. Suggest new ways that would make our initiative even more meaningful to our people. We are committed to doing this right; we would love to be known as The People Proud company.
